Peter Hickman has made history by breaking speed barriers at the Isle of Man TT

The roar of engines and excitement took over the first day of practice at the Isle of Man TT. Under clear skies and ideal weather conditions, riders raced at full speed through the Mountain Course, benefiting from recent improvements in certain sections of the track. However, it was Peter Hickman who stole the headlines with his spectacular performance.

Michael Dunlop dominated the Superbike, Superstock, and Supersport categories, setting impressive lap times and showcasing his skill on the bike. However, it was Hickman, the rider who has made his mark in the Superbike/Senior races at the Isle of Man, who left everyone amazed. Riding his Triumph Daytona 765 RS, he achieved the second fastest time in the Supersport category, reaching an average speed of 126.814 mph.

However, Hickman's true achievement came when he took the handlebars of his impressive BMW M 1000 RR. In a historic moment, he became the first rider to surpass the 200 mph barrier on the Sulby Straight, reaching an astounding speed of 321.869 km/h (200.8 mph). This milestone is not only a personal accomplishment for Hickman but also sets a new official record at the Isle of Man TT.

Sulby Straight, with its over 2,000 meters in length, has become an iconic location on the Isle of Man circuit. Situated between the towns of Sulby and Ramsey, this public road comes to life during the Tourist Trophy, when it is closed to regular traffic and becomes the stage for unforgettable moments of speed and skill.
