The Honda RC213V-S challenges the roads of the Isle of Man TT

In the world of the Isle of Man TT, a legendary motorcycle racing competition, there is a surprising infiltrator among the Superbike category bikes. It is the exclusive Honda RC213V-S ridden by Michael Rutter, a true gem developed by HRC based on the bike with which Marc Márquez won his first MotoGP title in 2013.

The 'S' version of the RC213V shares numerous components with its racing counterpart, including the chassis, engine, swingarm, electronic control system, and aerodynamic design. The modifications are limited to the necessary elements to comply with road regulations, such as headlights, taillights, mirrors, and other details. Additionally, some key components have been adapted to ensure greater durability and reliability, such as the suspension, valves, and gearbox.

The RC213V-S offers performance worthy of a racing motorcycle. Its 999 cc V4 engine generates 159 horsepower in its standard version and reaches 215 horsepower with the optional racing kit. With a dry weight of just 170 kg (160 kg with the racing kit), its power-to-weight ratio is exceptional. The state-of-the-art electronics include traction control, engine braking, and semi-automatic shifting systems inherited from MotoGP.

This Honda "MotoGP on the street" continues to be one of the most exclusive motorcycles in the world even eight years after its launch, with only 250 units manufactured at a base price of 191,000 euros, excluding the optional racing kit which adds another 20,000 euros.

Michael Rutter, a rider with an impressive record in road races, including seven victories at the Tourist Trophy, has once again chosen the RC213V-S to compete in the Superbikes/Senior category of the Isle of Man TT. Rutter has previously raced in this iconic event with the RC213V-S, and this year he aims to match the achievements of his father, Tony Rutter, at the Isle of Man.

The British rider describes the experience of riding the RC213V-S as one of the best in his sporting career. The bike, highly regarded by fans and recognizable for its distinctive sound, represents an exciting challenge for Rutter. This year, commemorating a special moment for him and his family, he has decided to dust off his Honda and upgrade it to compete once again at the TT. For Rutter, it is a privilege to be able to do so and one of the advantages of owning his own racing team.

With the Honda RC213V-S infiltrating the Isle of Man TT, an exciting display and the roar of a true motorcycle icon are expected amidst the Superbike competition.
