Kawasaki has used five additional concession points to raise the rev limit of their bike. After increasing by 250 rpm before Barcelona, they now add another 250 rpm, leaving behind the status of having the lowest rpm on the grid. Jonathan Rea, Kawasaki rider, hopes that this change will improve the performance of his bike on the Imola track, where the first free practice sessions are already taking place.

The system of concession points implemented in the Superbikes championship allows manufacturers to earn points every three rounds based on their results. These points are used to upgrade existing concession parts and improve the performance of the bikes. With this new increase, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR reaches 15,100 rpm, surpassing Yamaha but still below Honda and Ducati, which maintain a limit of 15,600 rpm each. The BMW M 1000 RR remains at 15,500 rpm.

On the other hand, Ducati has experienced another reduction of 250 rpm in an attempt to curb Álvaro Bautista's dominance. The decision to lower the rev limit of the Ducati Panigale V4 R was made by the championship organization. However, Kawasaki has managed to obtain its rpm increase through concession points, marking a difference compared to Ducati.

The situation for Kawasaki in the World Superbike Championship has become concerning. Jonathan Rea has only managed to win one out of the last 45 races, which has led satellite teams to speak out demanding an improvement in the performance of Kawasaki motorcycles. Now, with the increase in rpm in the Ninja ZX-10RR, Rea aims to regain his position in the fight for victory at Imola.
