Buell Hammerhead Freedom Edition: A Tribute to Heritage and Freedom
The iconic American brand Buell has surprised its fans with the release of a special edition of its sports model, the "Hammerhead 1190," called the Buell Hammerhead Freedom Edition. This exciting launch not only celebrates the 40th anniversary of the brand's foundation but also pays tribute to the famous Independence Day of the United States, celebrated on July 4th each year.
Featuring a distinctive design that incorporates red, white, and blue stars and stripes inspired by the American flag, the Buell Hammerhead Freedom Edition showcases a paint scheme that captures the patriotic spirit and heritage of the brand. While this special edition retains the technical specifications of the standard model, it stands out with its bold and distinctive appearance.
Bill Melvin, CEO de Buell, expressed his excitement for the launch of this special edition, stating, "We are thrilled to introduce the new Freedom paint scheme. Applied directly to the standard Hammerhead's carbon fiber bodywork, its design commemorates Buell's exciting 40-year journey and our enthusiasm for the next 40. For us, the Freedom Edition represents our unwavering commitment to our heritage, our fans, and the freedom that comes with riding a Buell."
The Buell Hammerhead Freedom Edition retains the powerful ET-V2 engine, a liquid-cooled 72-degree V-twin with electronic fuel injection, paired with a six-speed gearbox. This impressive engine produces a maximum power of 185 hp at 10,600 rpm and a torque of 137.8 Nm at 8,200 rpm. In addition, the motorcycle features advanced technology such as an intelligent traction control system, providing a safe and exhilarating riding experience.
The Buell Hammerhead Freedom Edition has an initial price of approximately 23,895 euros, and as part of a special launch promotion, the first 40 units will come with a four-year warranty and be autographed by the Buell factory family: the Team Buell.
Regarding the chassis, Buell has used an aluminum twin-spar frame and a Showa suspension system. The motorcycle features an inverted front fork and an adjustable rear monoshock to provide precise and comfortable handling. The braking system incorporates a 386 mm diameter perimeter front disc with an 8-piston caliper, while a second 220 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper is found at the rear.
La Buell Hammerhead Freedom Edition embodies the spirit of freedom and the legacy of a brand that has made a significant impact in the motorcycle industry. With its distinctive design and powerful performance, this special edition is a tribute to the passion for riding and the freedom that the Buell brand represents.
