BMW Motorrad has always been recognized for its innovative approach to motorcycle design and accessories. In its latest release, the company surprises by introducing the first smart glasses for motorcyclists, following the technological trend driven by brands like Apple.

The BMW ConnectedRide glasses are the first of their kind on the market and are now available for purchase. These connected glasses allow riders to view information about the road, similar to what some cars and helmets already offer, but integrated into a glasses device.

One of the standout features of the BMW ConnectedRide is its Heads-Up Display (HUD) technology, which projects information onto the rider's field of view. With this technology, riders can view data such as speed, gear, and navigation directions without having to take their eyes off the road. The glasses connect to a smartphone via Bluetooth to gather the necessary information. This is particularly useful for receiving GPS data and alerts about speed cameras or speed limits.

Regarding navigation instructions, the glasses offer options such as directional arrows or more detailed navigation with street names and intersections. The idea is to project all this information onto the lens of the glasses, avoiding interference with the rider's view of the road. The optical projection module is located inside the glasses, above the right lens. Additionally, the information can be deactivated if necessary.

BMW's glasses come in two sizes, M and L, and have a design similar to sunglasses. They feature four nose pads and two sets of lenses, with one set being transparent at 85% and the other set tinted to function as sunglasses. They also incorporate a light sensor that automatically adjusts the clarity of the lenses to prevent glare.

As for the battery life, the glasses offer up to 10 hours of autonomy with a charging time of approximately two hours. They can be charged directly from the motorcycle using a USB cable connected to the glasses' temple.

BMW's smart glasses are already available for purchase at dealerships in Spain, with an official price of 690 euros. While these types of devices are not cheap, they represent a step forward in the cutting-edge and technological riding experience for motorcyclists. BMW continues to demonstrate its commitment to innovation and constant improvement of safety and comfort in the world of motorcycles.
