Mick Doohan, the legendary 500cc rider and five-time world champion, has shared his opinion on Marc Márquez's current situation and his desire to see him on a more competitive bike than Honda's current RC213V. In an interview, Doohan expressed that it would be "interesting" to see Márquez on a KTM and pointed out that Márquez's relationship with Honda is primarily professional, as ultimately, racing is a business and riders need the right team to compete.

Doohan, who is now more involved in Formula 1 due to his son Jack's racing career, witnessed firsthand the races at Mugello and saw four Ducatis cross the finish line ahead of the other competitors. He also witnessed Márquez's crash as he tried to defend his podium position. In this context, Doohan considers it understandable that Márquez is looking for a more competitive bike to continue fighting for victories and titles.

While Doohan did not directly mention which team Márquez could join in the future, he did mention that a KTM would be interesting, as Ducati already has several prominent riders. Doohan emphasizes that, despite Márquez's achievements so far, he understands his hunger for winning and his desire to seek new opportunities.

Doohan's suggestions regarding Honda indicate that he believes the brand has lost its way and needs to regain its passion for racing. He recalls the years when he himself remained with Honda due to his unwavering will to win and his passion for competition. Doohan believes that Honda has the potential to recover and win again, but he emphasizes that they must fully commit and find the right level of passion and dedication.

While acknowledging the challenging environment of MotoGP at present, with limited testing and constant challenges, Doohan is confident that Honda can overcome these obstacles and return to the path of success. However, he cautions that the recovery will not be immediate or short-term, and that Honda will need to demonstrate unwavering commitment to once again reach the top.

As the MotoGP season continues, the focus remains on Marc Márquez and his comeback to competition after his injury. Mick Doohan's comments add an interesting perspective on the expectations and challenges that the Spanish rider faces, as well as on the future of Honda in the championship.
