The wait is about to come to an end for Andrea Iannone, who in November will leave behind his suspension period due to doping and regain his status as a rider in the FIM championships. After a long ordeal, the Italian has the opportunity to resume his career in the world of motorcycling and seek new victories and satisfactions on the tracks.

The four-season suspension imposed on Iannone stemmed from testing positive for a banned substance during the Malaysian Grand Prix in 2019, for the use of Drostanolone. However, now the rider and his team are working tirelessly to find a good motorcycle that will allow him to compete in the upcoming season with renewed enthusiasm.

The GoEleven team in the World Superbike Championship has been mentioned as a possible option for Iannone's comeback. In a recent interview with Icon Magazine, the rider addressed several topics, revealing his perspective on certain aspects of his career and his future on the tracks.

One of the aspects he highlighted in the conversation was his retrospective perception of his MotoGP career. Iannone admitted that, in hindsight, he regrets leaving Ducati at the end of 2016 when he chose to join Suzuki. Although he believed it was the right choice at that time, Iannone expressed his regret for leaving the Ducati team, where he feels he left a part of himself.

"It's not just about MotoGP," Iannone said, noting that he still considers himself a capable rider who can perform at a high level. Among his future options, Superbikes seems to be a possibility that could materialize in 2024.

"For now, I have to keep my mouth shut, we are working, thinking about the near future, which is quite close. My suspension is coming to an end and the finish line is in sight. I will regain my license in November," he affirmed.

Regarding his return to the tracks, Iannone revealed that conversations and contacts are underway. Despite the obstacles he has faced, he remains optimistic and grateful for the ongoing interest in his talent. Although he didn't want to give away details about his destination, whether in Superbike or MotoGP, he expressed his hope to return to what he loves most: riding bikes at high speeds and enjoying the sense of freedom it gives him.

"I don't want revenge, I've never liked that, in recent years I felt free, never trapped. I hope to get back to doing what I love, riding bikes at 300 km/h, as strong as I can, feeling lighter. This is my life," concluded Iannone, clearly expressing his passion for racing and his determination to return to the world of motorcycling with dignity and resolve.
